Chiropractic Medicare Notes

Updated: January 3, 2011
Dear Doctors and Staff,

Thanks to the action by Congress, we will not have a reduction of our Medicare fees for 2011. There is a chance Relative Value Quotient will come into play actually raising our fees by a small amount. Our individual Medicare carriers, who determine our specific fees for our local, will set the fees for 2011. They must test those fees through their systems and then post the new fees for the providers.

Until those new fees are posted, participating providers may see Medicare patients, collect only the 20% from the patient (also the first $165.00 deductible amount) and bill to the Medicare carrier your normal fees. As a participating provider, the Medicare carrier is responsible to know your Medicare fees and reimburse to the doctor the correct amount.

Non-participating providers may see Medicare patients, and collect at the front desk at time of visit, the 2010 limiting amount. However, do not bill the Medicare carrier until your Medicare carrier releases the new fees for 2011. This will prevent errors in billing above the limiting amount.

YOUR ASSISTANCE REQUESTED: We are completing our speaking calendar for 2011. If your State Association would be interested in a 2, 4, 6 or 8 hour Chiropractic Medicare Presentation, please give us a call.
Dr. Street will do presentations for small Chiropractic groups, State Conventions and/or Continued Education Programs. Fees are very reasonable and the returns for membership is priceless.

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION 2011: To do Chiropractic Medicare correctly for both the patient and doctor and to get our patients reimbursed for the Chiropractic care they need. To learn the correct way to "document" the Chiropractic necessity of care so, if audited, I will win the audit and sleep good at night not worrying about Medicare.
BOTTOM LINE: If you wish to learn how to do Chiropractic Medicare correctly, including "documenting" by federal standards, please consider ordering our Chiropractic Medicare DVD and booklet. It explains piece by piece every important step in doing and billing Chiropractic Medicare so there are no limits for the chiropractic adjustment. If you are audited you will have done Medicare correctly and win your audit. You and your staff will be very happy you have this important and mandatory information. I promise it will make a difference in your understanding of Medicare and how you bill Medicare.

Keep in mind, Medicare is the only insurance type program that if done incorrectly is fraud, a felony, a fine and/or jail.

I promise you will be more than satisfied that you made the right decision to purchase this information or attend our presentation. Please give me a call if you have questions. 1-618-395-3162
